Kris Wenzel Lifelong Learning Money/Fund Avalible

Nominee of the 2024 Denver Regional Nightingale Award, are invited to apply for the Kris Wenzel Lifelong Learning Fund.

Kris Wenzel was a deeply inspiring nurse whose passion for lifelong learning and excellence in nursing care was evident to all who knew her. Her joy for life was contagious, and she had a remarkable ability to connect professionals in healthcare and the nonprofit world. Her commitment to improving healthcare and her lasting impact on the nursing community will never be forgotten. Kris had a strong connection to the Denver Regional Nightingale Association (DRNA), and this fund continues her legacy.

The Kris Wenzel Lifelong Learning Fund offers reimbursement for nurses who:

• Complete continuing education in professional development,
• Achieve board certification in their nursing specialty, or
• Attend a conference to advance their nursing knowledge and skills.

The reimbursement covers education expenses not compensated by an employer or other means. These activities must have taken place during the calendar year of your Denver Regional Nightingale nomination.

Eligibility

• Nominees for the Nightingale Award Nominees in the Denver metro region are eligible to apply.
• Applicants must hold an LPN or RN 

 Nominees will be notified by email to complete the online application.

Application Process

• Applications can be submitted online here. 
• You must provide proof of certification or recertification expenditures.
• The application deadline is May 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
• Recipients of the funds will be selected by the Kris Wenzel Lifelong Learning Fund team and notified by email. Recipients will be announced at the 2025 Nightingale event.
